Prof. Scheuch |
| Professor Frederick C. Scheuch
(pronounced "shoy") was Beta Delta Chapter's founder in 1906. He
remained the chapter's guiding light until his death in the 1950s.
He often would stop at the House on his way to class to make sure all was
well. He was also a respected teacher and administrator. He
served as University of Montana's president from 1915-1917 and other times
in a temporary capacity. He also served as UM's Vice President. The Prof presented the chapter with two historically significant gifts: the ship's bell and the galley doors from the USS Montana. The Bell experienced a wild and wooly history until loan to the University and housed at Harry Adams Fieldhouse in 2000 in a place of high visibility and honor. The Galley Doors grace the front porch of The House. |

He also served as Chairman of the School of Foreign Languages and taught German.
