Goo Goo is a two foot diameter reddish devil mask that was acquired by a Beta Delta brother from a Chinese temple in Tin Sin (province? city?) in the late 1800s. He held an honored place in the chapter house until the 1980's when it disappeared. He was found by Joe Ford '72 in the early 1990s in a sad state of disrepair and stored for safekeeping. In 2001, Goo Goo received a substantial makeover and was rehung in the House in his usual place of honor. According to Gilbert Baker '27, in his day it was called "Hokem Jamokem". Sometime later, it was renamed "Goo Goo", presumably because of the large "goo goo" eyes. Goo Goo had a counterpart named "Gee Gee" which hung over the Reception Room fireplace. It was grayish in color, smaller and rounder than Goo Goo. |
